SQL Developer/DBA
at RM ESI in Trivandrum
We are currently seeking energetic and highly motivated SQL Developers/DBA, who thrives in a team environment, has outstanding interpersonal skills, a desire to learn new technologies and who wants to be part of a progressive team.
The job holder will be responsible for developing the SQL Team Web Site, complex Transact SQL code and leading the migration to new version of SQL Server.
The SQL Team web site is used to document design, systems builds and configuration using various techniques including blogs. It is used to present detailed monitoring information, help plan DBA activities, provides trouble shooting guidelines, etc. The content and the site are constantly under development to help the whole department.
The job holder is required to develop Stored Procedures and Triggers as required by the development projects.
The department plans to adopt new versions of SQL Server, e.g. 2005, when they are required. The job holder will need to lead the migration process for moving to these new releases.
The job holder will be responsible for tuning the databases for each new product release. This requires the specification, collection and analysis of hardware, software and system performance data. This will be used to extract the best from the hardware and software and lead to recommendations for areas for improvements, likely gains and costs.
